Marco Rubio leading in the Republican U.S. Senatorial Primary Campaign in Florida

Mr. Rubio, an attorney who has been a leading figure in the Florida state legislature, is ahead of the incumbent governor of Florida in polls conducted for the senate seat race…  If he wins the primary and the general election, he will be only one of a minor number of Latino/Hispanic U.S. Senators in Washington… A bit surprising that with so many states where Latinos/Hispanics make up a significant portion of the electorate, so few from this particular “demographic” are elected to national offices.

  1. Rather than ask, why so few Hispanics from FL are elected to national office?
Perhaps the question should be, Why do the Hispanics from FL choose not to run for national office? Curious.
