President “postures” at home, but tiptoes around dictators?

The at one time acclaimed director and funnyman who married his adopted daughter, Woody Allen, showed little commonsense and appeared to know very little of what made America great when reportedly he expressed a desire to have President Obama assume dictatorial  powers…  Just, just for a few years he indicated, to enable Obama to transform America into what he and his advisors believe America ought to be…

 Scary thought…

On  May 25, President Obama met on The Hill with the Republican U.S. Senators, ostensibly to exchange ideas on how to advance the nation’s common good and how to work together to do that…

Apparently the President’s idea of exchanging ideas on how to best work together was essentially to say that he was the president and the senators just ought to support his positions…  President  Obama, and the fellow who married his adopted daughter seem to have something in common – they show a lack of commonsense and a misunderstanding of what has made America great…

When retired Navy Admiral and U.S. Representative Sestak decided to challenge U.S. Senator Arlen Specter in the Democratic Primary campaign earlier this year, President Obama or one of his trusted advisors reportedly offered the Representative a job in the White House to induce him to drop out and give clear sailing to Specter…  Knowledgeable people have said an offer such as that would be illegal…  But the president has remained mum on the subject…  He can either say the offer was not made or that it was…  If he doesn’t say anything, the implication still is that the illegal offer was made, and that is not good for him or the country…

Actions such as that alleged offer are not what made America great… The president does not seem to understand America — that he is not above the law and that he is not now nor ever will be a dictator of this country…

Also, so far he and his advisors have managed to control the White House press corp and have at times totally by passed it when important guests have been at the White House — or when other notable events have transpired — although the President and his advisors seem to pay lip service to the First Amendment…  Again, actions such as that from our top elected leader and his assistants is not what made America what it is… But they do not to seem to understand that…

Meanwhile, after the ship of ally South Korea was reportedly blown up and sunk by North Korea, all the administration has said is something to the effect that “there will be consequences”…  Surprise, surprise, surprise — Kim Jong-il is not trembling…  And it would not be surprising furthermore that by torpedoing the ship of an American ally, Kim Jong-il has acted in such a callous, brutal manner because President Obama is seen as weak, and maybe even as timid…  Our allies must be, at best bewildered, and at worse, trembling…

But within the American government, on the other hand, the president seems to seek and want to exert omnipotent powers — and because the Democratic Party controls two very important branches of government (with the Democratic Congress in lockstep with him), the country being apprehensive of what the future holds is understandable…

And although some who truly do not understand America’s history wish to stifle criticism about the president and his advisors, regardless of what they say, in a free society open dissent is completely constitutional and reasonable and is a noble quest because come November, the results of the elections then will indicate what kind of America there will be…

Hopefully the over-the-hill director and actor will not get his wish…

  1. Interesting presentation, making a point!.

  2. I used to know this family, mom, dad, 2 kids. An outsider looking in would say, “nice people.” Dad would go out of his way to be accomodating and gracious outside his nuclear family. However, his wife, 2 kids did not benefit from his benevolent attitude. It was reserved for “others.” Within the family, the daily question was “Dr. Jeckyl or Mr. Hyde?”
Some deep inferior feelings are at play when people devalue their family members and over-value strangers.
It is a “train-wreck” pending, for the family unit; or as the case may be, for the country.
