Steven Slater:Steven Slater

Regardless of the circumstances preceding Cabin Attendant Slater‘s dramatic slide from the JetBlue aircraft, to him a plastic cup toast filled with a beverage of whatever is one’s choice (for him, a brewski), for doing it his way…   Now wait for the reality show, as well as the Sunday T.V. talking heads and newspaper columnists give their erudite analyses — including why the chicken crossed the road and what  Nietzche and Al Gore would say to us all about the meaning of the whole episode as it pertains to the world as we knew it pre Slater and post Slater… Prepare to take notes…

“Nuff said”…

  1. As I remember my days in boot camp doing push ups in the the mud while a drill instructor had his foot on my back screaming at me, one word comes to mind as I think of Mr. Slater…..”wussy.”

So he deals with rude passengers… that is why the call it “work” and not “fun.” That is why their airline pays him instead of the opposite.

We now live in a society that is so comfy and full of itself, that our pop icons are airline stewards with anger management issues. I am sure you are right….he will be a star. 🙂

    • Brings back Army memories for me about my basic training during some wet/cold winter weeks, with some pretty good drill sergeants — the good ol’ days, and I mean good ones because I would have missed out a lot if I had not been there…

  2. You take it easy on this guy but were harder on the first lady.

    • I was being light-hearted in dealing with Mr. Slater because the whole situation was bizarre, as you probably agree — and there now are reports that he is being considered for a reality show, as I facetiously mentioned in the post… The First Lady, on the other hand, is a “public figure” who was spending what seemed to me to be an “obscene” amount of public money, and I was reacting to that…
      Thank you for the comment…
