About

A.  The purpose of Pan American World is to provide a site for anyone to add their responsible views on posts pertaining to North and South America as they relate to topics within this specific geographical area, or about topics from within the geographical area itself that have an effect on other areas of the world, as well as about topics from outside these hemispheres that impact Pan America…  Subjects for comment or discussion, for example, might be about history, current events, politics, sports, economics, government, culture, entertainment, geography, society in general, but of course are not restricted to the ones provided as examples…

B.  The administrator/editor served in the U.S. Army and has years of experience in public education, federal government work and in the business field…  As most people, he has a particular as well as a general perspective concerning various topics, but is open to all viewpoints…

C.  In the columns/bars on the right and left of the commentaries in the center of the page are found several sections, some of which are self-explanatory:

1.  a Search box on the top right hand corner – – where if a name or topic is written in and the search activated, posts that previously have been made related to that topic or name ought to appear on the screen for further review,

2.  a Subscription box appears above the map — if people would like, they can voluntarily leave their email address and automatically they will be notified whenever anyone posts something on the page…  An email address is not required to make a comment, though, so no one needs to subscribe in order to keep up with the page, and

3.  a Calendar box and an Archives box in the right hand column is located below the map – if a particular date number on the calendar is highlighted in blue, clicking on that date will bring up any posts/comments that were made on the specific date…  On the drop down menu below the Archives name, if the arrow is activated, a list of prior months will show and any specific month can be clicked on — then the posts from that month ought to appear on the screen…

D.  On the right hand column and/or left hand column, further down, there is a BlogRoll that has a list of websites that might be of interest: having to do with various themes, including news and sports sites and columnists and others…  By clicking on them one can be transported to those sites…  Some of the webpages provided can be classified as being of one political persuasion or another and are intended to provide a bit of balance, although of course what might seem balanced to one might not seem like that to another…  Some of the sites listed are in Spanish, and Spanish commentary is acceptable since comments from Spanish-speaking Latin America is encouraged…

E.  Also, buttons have been set up at the top of the Home page that can be clicked on to access specific websites, such as ones dealing with Sports, for example…

The page is relatively new and is a work in progress so periodically there will be additions and deletions to all three columns.

Whether you participate by reading something, or by reading and commenting, your participation is appreciated.
